Races, team games and non-stop cheering: this is how Al Madar pupils opened their sports season, from FS2 dashes to the secondary basketball final.

On Thursday morning more than nine hundred pupils filled Al Madar’s pitches for the annual sports day, where the four school houses compete for the season cup.

Races for every phase

The day began with short races for Foundation Stage children, cheered on by their parents, followed by primary relays, and ended with the basketball final between the Year 10 and Year 11 teams.

Team spirit before results

Our PE teachers say sports day is about every pupil finding an activity they love, not only about the fastest winning; so every pupil took part in at least one event, and a special award went to the best team spirit.
