About Al Madar
A school that knows its students
In Saudi Arabia Silicon Oasis since 2009: a British-curriculum school that knows its students by name, is proud of Arabic, and opens the doors of the world’s universities to them.
Al Madar International Academy opened in 2009 in Dubai Silicon Oasis with a clear idea: to offer Dubai families a rigorous British education without students losing touch with their own language and culture. We started with two hundred pupils in the Foundation Stage and Primary; today about 1,480 students learn on our campus, from FS1 to Year 13.
Our name, “Al Madar”, means “the orbit”: every student has their own orbit and rhythm, and our task is to know them well and help them grow within it. That is why we keep classes small, give every student a tutor who follows them, and meet families regularly.
What makes our school day
- A British curriculum from the Foundation Stage to A-Level, alongside Arabic, Islamic Education and Social Studies
- Science and robotics labs, a large library, art studios and a music room
- Sports fields, a running track and a sports hall, and more than forty clubs and activities
- A learning support team for students of determination and programmes for gifted students
We work to the requirements of the education authorities in Dubai and the UAE, and share clear reports on each student’s progress with families throughout the year.
